Pegasus Spiele present new games in autumn: Firenze and Junta El Presidente

Pegasus Spiele is well-positioned to open the gaming season 2010 with many new and exciting board games.
Highlights are their new games "Firenze" and "Junta: Viva el Presidente".

The former takes players to Florence (Firenze) at the edge of modern times. Powerful families try to outrival one another, not only in retail and politics, but also in erecting especially splendid towers. Players take on the role of architects trying to complete the families’ tower contracts. Activity cards displayed on the table provide players with stones to build their towers. Firenze is an easy-to-learn strategy game that perfectly combines new and well-established play mechanisms. Due to different starting grids each round takes a different course – for endless play fun and attraction. Firenze won second place in 2008’s Hippodice games designer contest!

"Junta: Viva el Presidente", however, continues the tradition of the recent hit dice game "Im Wandel der Zeiten: Das Würfspiel - Bronzezeit" (Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age). The satirical board game "Junta" (also available from Pegasus) is one of the great classic board games. Here players compete for power and money as members of the corrupt military dictatorship in the República de las Bananas. Now "Junta: Viva el Presidente!" continues the story. Several years have passed since riots and attempted coups shook the island República de las Bananas. The military has lost their power; private militias now do the dirty work. The members of the Junta have withdrawn to ostentatious estates and live on their Swiss bank accounts. Now players take on the role of Junta members and command their own private militias. They rob their opponents and attack the president wherever possible to become president themselves. What is more, they try to get their hands on as many development funds as possible to hire new militias and extend their estates. The fastest player to extend their property wins the game.
