4Kids Entertainment International Joins Forces With New Partners For Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s

Stickers, wall calendars, books and magazines lined up for Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s

 

4Kids Entertainment International has teamed up with three more licensees in the ever growing licensing programme for Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s. Panini has come on board with pan European activity covering sticker album collections, sticker packets, sticker sheets and stick and stack activity books, as well as wall calendars across GAS. Giochi Preziosi has also joined the programme and is set to publish an official 5D’s magazine in Italy, while Les Livres Du Dragon D’or will release sticker books, Look and Find books and colouring books across France and several French-speaking territories.

The Panini sticker products are scheduled to launch in autumn 2010, before rolling out across western and eastern Europe later in the year and will be available in book stores, department stores, home video rental chains, kiosks, newsagents, independent and mass retailers, toy chains and via the internet.The calendars are currently available in book, toy and comic shops as well as Amazon and are expected to go into newsstands from end of August. The official Italian magazine is scheduled to launch in October at newsagents and kiosks whilst Les Livres Du Dragon D’or products are scheduled to go on sale in 2011. This new activity adds to an already impressive licensing programme for the brand, which is represented across a range of sectors including toys, video games, apparel, BTS, stationery and games.

In addition and eagerly awaited by fans, is the launch of a new ‘Global Hub’ www.yugioh.com scheduled for November this year. The site will integrate all facets of the brand including TV, TCGs, toys, video games, publishing and licensed products and feature detailed information about the characters and storylines from the past 10 years of Yu-Gi-Oh!, GX and 5D’s. The Global Hub will kick off the 10th anniversary of the franchise, with the much anticipated 3D film scheduled to launch in 2011.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise boasts millions of fans across the world. Approximately six million 6-8 year olds collect and play the trading card games globally and the Guinness Book of World Records recently confirmed that it is the best selling trading card game to date with over 22.5 million cards sold. The TV series are broadcast in multiple territories across the globe with the latest incarnation, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s: Road to Destiny being sold across Europe and the Middle East.
