JMSP und ZDF Enterprises geben Produktionsbeginn der neuen actionreichen Kinderserie bekannt

Jonathan M. Shiff Productions, Australias leading producer of childrens drama, and ZDF Enterprises, one of Germanys most renowned distributors, have today announced that production will soon begin on their new flagship childrens series, LIGHTNING POINT.

When ZOEY and KIKI, two irrepressible girls from another galaxy become castaways in the quiet, Australian seaside town of Lightning Point, they recruit local girl AMBER to keep them undercover. But the whole town is abuzz with the sighting of UFOs and the girls soon realise that they may not be the first intergalactic visitors.

The series is to be produced in association with ZDF, Germanys largest public broadcaster, Network Ten Australia and Nickelodeon Australia, with investment from Screen Australia and Screen Queensland. It will be distributed worldwide by ZDF Enterprises. Filming will begin on November 8th, 2010 at Village Roadshow Studios on Queenslands Gold Coast.

Hundreds of teenagers nationally will audition for the coveted roles that offer the chance for young Australian talent to be launched internationally, in the tradition of other actors from JMSP smash hit series, H2O: JUST ADD WATER and THE ELEPHANT PRINCESS.

"We're really excited to be helping our young audience discover a new series of retro surfing sci- fi. It will be something quite different and a lot of fun!" Said Producer Jonathan Shiff.

Nicole Keeb, commissioning editor for ZDF Germany is excited about the series and its potential.
"We are looking forward to another great series out of our wonderful collaboration with Jonathan and his team." Said Keeb. "Aliens in the most beautiful countryside of the world, heart warming, stunning characters and exciting stories delivered with first class visual effects; that's what we cannot wait to get!"
