„Thanks, kids!“

For 60 years children and parents have faithfully accompanied Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Co. In return Snoopy now thanks his fans by donating an amount of €100.000 to BILD hilft e.V. “Ein Herz für Kinder”. This idea was initiated by Copyright Promotions Licensing Group Germany (CPLG), the agency that accounts for the fact that Snoopy can be found on every conceivable product in the German market. Together with other licensing partners, CPLG collected €100.000 and handed over a donation check at the annual “Ein Herz für Kinder” TV Charity Gala on the 12th of December, 2009, which was supported by many celebrities.

“This extraordinary event underlines the exceptional nature of this anniversary and the joint commitment of all business partners.” explains Gerold Kolenbrander, Managing Director of CPLG Germany, “BILD hilft e.V. “Ein Herz für Kinder” is an aid organization focussing on children and Peanuts stands for an authentic childhood and by this co-operation we want to say an honest “Thank you” for the successes that were achieved with the Peanuts and let children in need take part.”

However, this marks just the start for the anniversary events that are scheduled throughout all of 2010. Many new products are set to excite Peanuts fans - a specially developed logo of Snoopy and “Ein Herz für Kinder” evokes a truly “special” birthday look, whilst a particular design reflects the characters’ evolution through the decades, as the appearance of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and their friends has changed slightly over the past sixty years.

Yet, the partners’ efforts cover much more than just design and products. Snoopy plans visiting some institutions serviced by “Ein Herz für Kinder” like hospitals, hospices and nurseries. He wants to amaze, cheer up and console the children there in person. A number of artists shall accompany this campaign and some of them will visit the institutions together with Snoopy as a surprise guest. A further highlight will be a benefit concert also taking place next year.

BILD hilft e.V. “Ein Herz für Kinder”

In 1978, Axel Springer created the BILD aid organization – initially as a traffic safety campaign. In the meantime it became on of the most multilateral aid organizations in Germany supporting children in need around the whole globe. “Ein Herz für Kinder” guarantees that every contributed cent reaches the children and the aid project without deductions. Since 2000, an annual TV donation gala is taking place. Last year a donation record of more than € 15 million could be achieved. “Ein Herz für Kinder” intervenes where children are in need. Helped by renowned physicians, the association arranges life-saving surgeries and therapies for critically ill children. Moreover, particularly in Germany, the BILD aid organization supports cancer research, nursery schools, children’s hospitals, schools, soup kitchens and orphanages as well as sports and educational projects etc. Get further information at www.ein-herz-fuer-kinder.de.
