Kids across the globe going crazy for Gogo’s

Bulldog Licensing has reported that a virulent virus is spreading across the world, causing anyone affected to develop a complete devotion to a range of brightly coloured collectable figures – yes, Gogo’s fever is going global!

Gogo’s Crazy Bones are a range of innovative collectable figures produced by Magic Box International and PPI Worldwide Group. Released last year in the UK, Gogo’s has exploded onto the market and is now the biggest selling toy-collectable in the country. This success story is now being replicated across the world, with Gogo’s now enormous sellers in Spain, Germany, Benelux, South Africa, the Nordics, Australia/NZ and the USA.

The toys are proving to be just as popular internationally as they are in the UK – in South Africa, where Blowfish act as Bulldog’s local licensing agent, Reggies toy stores have had to put Gogo's packs under lock and key because of an unprecedented buying frenzy and new stock of the collectables are being flown in to satisfy the enormous demand. Sales for Toys R Us South Africa have been so strong that Toy Buyer, Vee Kistensamy said: ‘It’s so refreshing to find a product to hit our shores, that has the absolute enjoyment, simplicity and affordability that the Gogo Crazy Bones is giving to our kids. This will ensure that the Gogo Crazy Bones will be around for some time. This has all resulted in an excellent sell-thru in Toy R Us - greatly welcomed!’

In Spain, where Suma act as Bulldog’s local licensing agent, the excitement surrounding the brand saw kids queueing for an hour and a half to see the unveiling of Power Gogo’s at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium, whilst in the US, Toys R Us has tipped Gogo’s as one of its brands to watch this Christmas. In the UK, Gogo’s are as popular as ever and a recent Gogo’s swap day at the Kingston branch of The Entertainer saw queues snaking 25 metres down the street, with kids travelling from as far away as Exeter to attend the event!

Licensing agent Bulldog has built up an incredibly strong programme for the brand - in the UK this includes Bacup for footwear, Sambro for stationery, Portico for greetings cards, Pyramid for posters, Roy Lowe and Sons for socks, Infocado for calendars, Zap for bedding, Halsall for wheeled toys, Poetic Gem for apparel, MV Sports and Leisure for plush, Alpa for back to school and giftware, Vogue for lunch boxes and bottles, Winning Moves for Top Trumps, and Penguin and Random House for publishing.

International licensees are also realising the potential of Gogo’s – in Spain, Medialive is on board for publishing, whilst in Benelux licensees include Glow Europe for apparel, stationery and gift plush, Van der Erve for apparel accessories, and Belltex for bedding. Elsewhere, Random House and Penguin are both taking their publishing lines into the market in Australia/NZ and Germany, whilst Winning Moves is set to launch Gogo’s Top Trumps across the key European territories for the brand and Australia/NZ.

Gogo’s is proving to be phenomenally successful wherever it launches, with both consumers and licensees alike, and it’s now a truly global brand.” says Bulldog MD Rob Corney.
