  • Germany
    Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) in Germany has closed a deal which will see its hugely successful partnership with Panini Verlags extended for a further two years. A variety of branded books and magazines including a Dora the Explorer bi-monthly magazine and SpongeBob SquarePants story book, comic, soft cover colouring books, book of postcards, summer activity book and wall calendar, will be available across Austria, Germany and Switzerland from this Winter. Fans will be able to purchase products at airports and all leading book shops, department stores, stationery shops, kiosks and supermarkets, as well as via mail order.

Programme Sales

  • MTV Networks International has struck several brand new programme sales deals for its children’s brand, Nickelodeon, across Asia, Europe and Latin America:
    • Asian-inspired animation, Avatar, is set to broadcast on Hong Kong’s TVB channel. Having already been picked up by ATV, the unique deal marks the first time ever that a show has aired on both the territory’s only free-to-air broadcasters.
    • Fox in Portugal has picked up seasons 1+2 of The Ren and Stimpy Show while Norway’s NRK has licensed hit pre-school property, Dora the Explorer. Canal + in France will air Back at the Barnyard for the first time and the market’s Television 3 has picked up Tak & the Power of Juju.
    • Following the launch of MTVNHD last year, MTVNI has signed its first-ever HD deal for live action hit show, iCarly (seasons 1&2) with Brasil’s Globo TV. Elsewhere in Latin America, deals for Nickelodeon branded blocks have been closed with Ecuador’s Teleamazonas and Antena Latina in the Dominican Republic (renewal) which will see hit properties including Back at the Barnyard, Fairly Odd Parents, Drake & Josh and SpongeBob SquarePants broadcasting in these territories. In addition, a brand new package deal has been inked with Teletica in Costa Rica with recently launched programmes including pre-school hit Ni Hao Kai-Lan and animation, Mighty B!, airing for the first time.
