Marathon Media: New Gormiti Series To Be Unveiled At Mipcom 2009!

Marathon Media, a Zodiak Entertainment Company, and Giochi Preziosi are glad to announce the introduction of the newest TV chapter of the Gormiti franchise to international broadcasters at Mipcom in October.

Gormiti - The Supreme Eclipse Era, will feature 26 half-hours episodes, bringing the Gormiti Saga to a total of 52 episodes. The 2nd season, Gormiti - The Supreme Eclipse Era will be launched this Fall 09 on Mediaset and starting in the fall of 2010 in the other territories.

Along with the second serie will be released a new style guide for merchandising and licensing products, based on the new characters and designs.

The Gormiti licensing program is fully supported by local agents appointed in each of the European countires in which the brand is active: Mediaset (Italy), TLC (UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland), Benelux (Telescreen), Plus Licens (Nordics & Eastern Europe), Spain & Greece (Planeta Jr), Tycoon (Mexico, Central America and Chile), Luiz Angelotti (Brazil) and IMC Licensing (Argentina, Urugay, Bolivia and Paraguay), Character Licensing and Marketing in South Africa and Wild Pumkin in Australia and New Zealand.

The 1st season, Gormiti, the Lords of Nature Return, premiered in September on M6 in France, RTL 2 in Germany, Cartoon Network in Spain, Nickelodeon in the UK, and Alter Channel in Greece, and soon to be launched on Cartoon Network in the US, Digi Turk in Turkey, Noga in Israel, MBC in the Middle East, TV3 in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, Nova TV in Bulgaria and Globo TV in Brazil.

Negotiations for further Latin American and south east Asia sales are also drawing to a close.

Gormiti, the Lords of Nature Return has already been a huge ratings success on its primary broadcaster, Mediaset in Italy, where it attracted more than 1 million viewers per episode at the end of 2008 and continued its success throughout 2009.

The animated series produced by Marathon Media and Giochi Preziosi for Mediaset, M6, and Canal J was launched for international sale at MIPCOM 2008. It was adapted from the major Italian property Gormiti. With more than 100 million toys sold, Gormiti is now the market leading toy brand for boys in many European countries and it is also growing rapidly on other continents.

A perfect blend of magic, epic tales and comedy, Gormiti, the Lords of Nature Return follows the everyday lives of four kids entering a magical dimension called Gorm, made famous by its legendary inhabitants: the Gormiti.

Zodiak Entertainment Distribution holds international TV and home entertainment rights to Gormiti, the Lords of Nature Return. Licensing and merchandising for the brand is handled by Marathon Media in France and Giochi Preziosi in the rest of the world.
