The magazine enjoys an average awareness level of more than 60%; the brand is one of the strongest and most popular animal brands in Europe. That’s the ideal basis for the development and launch of licensed "Ein Herz für Tiere" products  Only few licensed properties provide their licensees with such great potentials: a positive brand image throughout the age groups, cooperation opportunity with a successful print magazine and Germany’s largest online animal portal (editorial content, advertisement, B2B contacts), know-how of an expert editorial team (expertise in questions, information and trends around pets and animals), special target group appeal of 7- to 14-year-olds thanks to the insert “Moskito”, a large image library, …

A diversified animal calendar series by teNeues will be the first licensed product line on the German market, followed by puzzles and pairs games by Schmidt Spiele.

Another approach for special products will be the “Pet of the Year” strategy. Steiff Company will present specially designed hand-made dog and cat plush toys. Prior to each product launch, 1.6 million "Ein Herz für Tiere" readers will vote on which stuffed toys is awarded the official “Herz für Tiere” brand. Also Schmidt Spiele with a new puzzle special edition and many other licensees will join in this new programme.

What is more, 8 million cat owners in Germany can be looking forward to a top innovation by Salton and "Ein Herz für Tiere" in 2008: The presentation of Europe’s first fully automatic, self-cleaning cat litter pan at the Interzoo Fair in Nuremberg.

The existing product portfolio will be extended by more licensed products including book series for three different age groups (board books, first readers and youth books), arts & crafts and home textiles with beddings, towels and cushions.
