Abbey Home Media Group (AHMG), leaders in children’s programming, announce the signing of two significant agreements, firstly with major German publisher, Edition XXL, to produce the Wide Eye Early Learning Programme in Germany and with Pioneer LLC to produce the Wide Eye, Mother Goose and Artyfacts Early Learning Programmes in the Middle East, India and selected Far Eastern markets. Both are scheduled for roll out during 2008. The Early Learning Programme is designed to provide pre-school children with support in the ten key areas of learning that a child needs to develop in preparation for its formal education, including Listening, Language, Mathematical and early Manipulative skills. Containing over 40 different multimedia components including books, audio, video, toy and a Parent’s Guide the programme is marketed as a single large compendium box or nine separate carry–case packs. The pack features all of the main characters from the highly popular pre-school Wide Eye television series which was co-produced by the BBC and AHMG and was produced by the BAFTA award-winning King Rollo Films. AHMG will be working with Edition XXL, a leading German children's publisher on the distribution of Wide Eye Early Learning Programme for Germany with immediate effect. In addition to Wide Eye, the long term deal signed with Pioneer LLC will also include Early Learning Programmes based on additional key properties from AHMG’s portfolio: Mother Goose and Artyfacts. Scheduled for roll out from 2008 in the Middle East, India and selected Far Eastern markets, pre-school children will be encouraged to explore new skills in the company of their favourite nursery rhyme characters from Mother Goose and colourful images and interactive fun from the popular Artyfacts programmes. Ian Miles, Founder of Abbey Home Media Group, comments; “These international publishing deals form part of our on-going strategy for Wide Eye and our other key properties to extend to an even wider pre-school audience and continue to build on the international success of the Early Learning Programmes. With beautifully animated characters, music, humour and interactive fun, our properties lend themselves perfectly to Early Learning Programmes injecting their own magic and adventure into the teachings and messages that appeal to both boys and girls to laugh and learn together.” Wide Eye is also now sold internationally in over 30 major international markets which includes recent broadcast deals for Northern Europe and Korea (C4U Television) plus the increased distribution of the Wide Eye DVD across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Russia. Wide Eye and the latest DVD ‘Friends from the Natterjack Forest’ are also featured in the Government supported Pre-school Learning Alliance (PLA) Healthy Eating campaign ‘Feeding Young Imaginations’, helping to illustrate the message that healthy eating can be fun. |
