Top quality entertainment from EM.Entertainment continues to enjoy keen demand in Germany. The end of last year saw the company agree a number of license contracts with ZDF, MTV Networks Germany and RTL DISNEY Fernsehen covering program broadcast on German free TV. Within the scope of its existing framework contract, ZDF acquired 2D animated action/comedy series Staines Down Drains (German title: Fleckgeflutscht!), which is scheduled to celebrate its free TV premiere on children’s channel KI.KA in 2008. Interest in the fast-paced animation is also high in the international arena, with TV stations such as Austria’s ORF, Channel 7 in Australia and US video-on-demand platform Kabillion having opted to take the show in the forefront. The end of 2007 also saw MTV Networks Germany GmbH acquire a number of well-known feature films, including Lassie’s Greatest Adventure, Five Get Into Trouble, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Astrid Lindgren title Madita & Pim on behalf of German children channel NICK as part of the international network of Nickelodeon. In December, EM.Entertainment also granted free TV rights to RTL DISNEY Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG in respect of US cartoon series Doug and Mister Magoo for broadcast on Super RTL. |
