Life in blue with The Smurfs and TF1 Licences !

With its title of Best Smurfs Agent 2018 awarded by IMPS, the owner of the property, TF1 Licences is proud to look back on some great operations built around the brand.

TF1 Licences owes this title in particular to its partnership with McDonald's at the end of the year, on the occasion of the Smurfs' 60th anniversary, and to many other special operations.


An exceptional anniversary at McDonald's
The highlight of 2018, the unprecedented McDonald's x The Smurfs operation, was a real success! On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of The Smurfs, the restaurant chain offered 60 figurines to collect in Happy Meals for eight weeks. With more than 2 million visitors per day, and 14 million Happy Meals sold per year, The Smurfs brand offered itself a unique visibility with this operation, which was a real hit with consumers!


On the ground or in the air
Smurf fans were able to enjoy the Smurf Experience in Brussels, an incredible immersive exhibition for the whole family. A tribute was also paid to Peyo during an exhibition at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris. Finally, looking up to the sky, you may see The Smurfs on the hull of a magnificent Aerosmurf Brussel Airlines aircraft!


Think Blue, Think Smurf
Smurfs are committed to protecting the planet by becoming ambassadors for the UN's 17 sustainable development goals, with the ambition to tick all of them in the coming years. The first focus for 2019 will be the protection of the oceans. In this process, The Smurfs has already approached the Surfrider Foundation and the licensees have the opportunity to donate part of their turnover to this cause.

To protect the youngest from the sun, Mustela offered last summer a set of sunscreens bearing The Smurfs' logo. A contest allowed children to win a scooter, and ephemeral Smurf tattoos were available in pharmacies!

The little characters also invited themselves into Hammerson shopping malls for a big Smurf hunt! A competition was held to win gift cards and many activities entertained young and old during their shopping trip (creation workshops, games and stands...).

Strong license activations that always give The Smurfs visibility, who don't get a wrinkle! Other great projects will be launched in the coming months. While waiting for the arrival of the new animation series on TF1 in 2020, we haven't finished smurfing!
