Licensed apparel experts Poetic Brands have added a new brand to their portfolio – after signing a deal with Haynes Publishing for an apparel range based on their famous car manuals.

Haynes Manuals have huge brand awareness - thanks to worldwide sales totalling more than 150million. First published in 1966, every single manual is based on the stripdown and rebuild of the project vehicle and with extensive use of step-by-step photographs – a process that has not changed to this day. The iconic books have helped successive generations of amateur mechanics to fix their cars and hold a special place in the affections of the nation.

Poetic Brands is planning a wide range of adult apparel, including nightwear, featuring the unmistakable imagery synonymous with the brand.

Iain Wakefield of Haynes Publishing says: “Haynes Manuals are much-loved so are ideal for a clothing line, and we are delighted to be working with Poetic Brands as they have an incredibly strong record in extending properties into the apparel sector.”

“We are very excited to be working with such a classic brand,” says Elliott Matthews of Poetic Brands. “Even people with no interest in cars recognise the imagery – as these books are in millions of homes. This also taps into the automotive trend that’s throughout retail at the moment, so we’re expecting a great sales performance from this range.”
