Goliath Presents Recoil – A Much Discussed New Play Experience

Goliath Toys present an innovative toy at this year’s Toy Fair in Nuremberg. Recoil is a toy pistol. But thanks to augmented reality and your own imagination Recoil creates whole new play worlds on your smart phone. For all those who have been playing ego shooters on their own – alone, indoors and in front of a computer screen – Recoil now transfers the experience outdoors and turns it into a fascinating team experience.
The hub – the base station – transmits a map onto the mobile phones of all players within a radius of 75 metres. The map allows you to identify enemies, allies, and targets. It also displays your health status, your own position and the charge state of your pistol. The hub may serve up to 16 players at the same time. What is more: Thanks to an internal WLAN the game even spares your mobile data volume.

“This play mechanism naturally provides considerable potential for general discussion. But Recoil has met more approval at the Toy Fair than even we have anticipated. People seem to understand that Recoil is not a war game, but an activity game that inspires communication, team spirit, and imagination,” says Michael Radzio, sales and marketing manager, Goliath.

Recoil uses GPS to project a play map to any location, no matter if indoors or outdoors. It can be played at any location and in different modes. There are no limits to your imagination. In addition to team play games or every man for themselves scenarios you may also develop your own special missions. You do not need any special protective equipment. The starter set is available for 149.99 Euros and ready-to-use as it comes with a base station and two pistols. The corresponding app can be downloaded for free. Recoil is recommended for children aged 12+.

“The combination of virtual reality and real life is an absolute trend and going to dominate the market in upcoming years”, says Marco Dammann, service, sales and marketing manager, Goliath.

But of course, Goliath also caters for other target demographics. For girls aged 3+ the popular world of Filly is expanded by adding the cute Filly Angels. The little Angels carry golden scrolls that allow children to stow away their secret wish lists. Another highlight is the Filly Angels Advent Calendar that not only contains collectible figurines but also countless accessories. The little horses have long become a classic series of collectible items and made a positive start into the year 2018 after a really successful Christmas season 2017.

For the second half of the year Goliath already has attractive innovations in the pipeline. The action game Banana Joe promotes children’s capacity of reaction (ages 5+) and Boom Trix helps little builders aged 8+ to create a whole course made of trampolines. Look forward to watch the balls roll – or even jump – along the course!
