Sports Merchandise and Licensing Show returns to Stamford Bridge

BRANDORA Editorial Staff - October 2016

On Monday 14th November, the Sports Merchandise and Licensing Show will return to Stamford Bridge for the third successive year.
The show will be held across two halls inside the stadium. The increased capacity will see the Show occupy the Centenary Hall for the first time, with visitors able to enjoy panoramic views of the Stamford Bridge pitch.

Chelsea FC have operated a licensing programme for the past sixteen years, which has enjoyed increasing success, mirroring the club’s on-field achievements over this period. Keen to support their licensees – which now number in excess of 70 globally, the Club wanted to provide them with the platform to showcase their goods and services to a large number of key customers in the sports merchandise industry. The Sports Merchandise and Licensing Show provides exactly this opportunity - set against the backdrop of one of the most iconic venues in football.

This year’s instalment of the Show will see the return of Chelsea FC Licensees and regular exhibitors: Forever Collectibles, Sourcelab, Scoredraw, Brecrest, Hy-pro and Storm International.

Many new, innovative products will also be on display, from a host of first-time exhibitors. Ones to look out for include Staramba, who create 3D printed figurines of players, ensuring complete likeness is captured by scanning the players first. Other new exhibitors at the show include Terracewear and Sporting Wallpaper.

The show caters for all areas of the licensing industry: Kibo will promote their digital products; with digital licensing presenting a major area for growth for many football clubs.
Also exhibiting are a number of companies who provide vital services to the licensing industry; from Intellectual Property firm Mathys & Squire, to Licensing Systems from Dependable Solutions, brand security from OpSec and retail and ticketing software from Medoc; The Sport Merchandise and Licensing Show provides a one-stop shop for all key contacts in the industry.

There will also be a strong contingent of International exhibitors, notably US-based companies including: children’s outerwear company Outerstuff and sport’s lifestyle brand ’47. European exhibitors include Sport Design Sweden, Fritsche Accessories.
Previous editions of the show have been well attended by a host of key personnel in the sports merchandise industry. Delegates include sports brands aiming to acquire new licensees, clubs looking for new suppliers to their stadium stores, and retailers wanting to stock licensed product.

Football Clubs and Federations who have attended previous editions of the Show include the majority of Premier League and Championship clubs, notably Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and The FA, as well as many of the top European clubs including, Real Madrid, Juventus, Inter Milan and Ajax. As well as football, the show caters to all sports, with many of the exhibitors already holding licenses across a multitude of different sports and brands.
Held at the home of The Blues since 1905, Stamford Bridge provides the perfect backdrop for the show. It’s location in Central London, coupled with two on-site hotels make it ideal for the large number of guests travelling to the show. Exhibitors are also treated to an exclusive pre-show party at the on-site music venue, Under The Bridge. This provides the opportunity for networking in less formal surroundings, while enjoying fantastic live music.
