Job Description
You will be working in BMW Group’s Lifestyle Collections department (BB-5) where fascinating and successful product lines are developed to strengthen the brand and to broaden the brand communication. As a Licensing Manager for the brand BMW we offer you a challenging and exciting position in this area. The focus of your work will be the brand strengthening, the lead of additional potential brand licensees as well as achieving agreed quantitative targets for licensing business domains in Miniatures, Video games and certain Lifestyle categories. You will have the management and control responsibility of all licensees included in these categories and will supervise the international licensing agencies in that regard. In particular, you will be accountable for the definition, development and commercialization of a future-oriented global licensing portfolio for the BMW brand. Together with the licensing agencies you will identify innovative products and will be responsible for the selection of licensees. You will take care of the contract development in cooperation with the agencies and internal departments and will be responsible for controlling and monitoring both the license partners and the licensing agencies with regard to their fulfillment of contractually defined services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish key strategic license partnerships with licensees at international level
  • Manage strategic promotional partnerships by creating and leveraging licensing opportunities
  • Define the amount of royalties and guaranteed sums
  • Work with relevant licensees and maximize the sales and earned revenue potential of the product licensing category across all markets
  • Develop strategic recommendations and implement plans for new business
  • Report to the Head of Licensing, but with a significant degree of autonomy
  • Project management of on-going projects and upcoming launches

Job Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Fluent English is essential, German and other languages would be very beneficial
  • Understanding of the license industry with experience in the field of video games, toys or lifestyle categories
  • Strong project management skills
  • Collaborate effectively with others to identify and resolve issues
  • Able to work under pressure and meet short deadlines
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Financial acumen & the ability to analyze data & construct practical conclusions/recommendation
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships both internally and externally at all levels
  • Computer literate including use of MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.
