The brand new CGI-animated series “Wissper” (52 x 7’) is heading to TV screens in Latin American thanks to a deal that the German brand management and media company m4e AG and Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic (DLA/USH) just signed. The contract grants the broadcaster the exclusive Pay-TV and basic subscription TV-rights for the Latin American territories. “Wissper” will broadcast on Discovery Kids, DLA/USH’s 24-hour preschool network, in 2016.

“We are extremely happy about closing this deal with Discovery Networks and covering the important Latin American market, not only because we believe that “Wissper” will be more than well received there, but also because the broadcast will provide an important basis for developing a strong licensing program in Latin America as well”, says Jo Daris, Head of Operations at m4e AG.

Wissper is a series that fits perfectly with the production values and high quality standards Discovery Kids is known for in Latin America and instills in young children the importance of caring for animals and the love of nature,” adds Flavio Medeiros, Director of Program Sourcing and Acquisitions for Discovery Kids. “We are happy to have Wissper as part of our programming lineup.

Aimed at preschool children, “Wissper” follows the adventures of a little girl by the same name who has a very special talent - she is able to communicate with animals, which allows her to understand their problems and help solve them. Wissper the “animal whisperer”, is a beloved character for young viewers all around the world.

The 52 episodes of the CGI-animated TV-series are created by London-based animation studio Absolutely Cuckoo – known for the BBC-hit-series “Waybuloo” - in coproduction with m4e AG, Telegael (Ireland), Discreet Art Productions (India), and the German BASTEI Media GmbH, a subsidiary of publisher Bastei Lübbe AG. Episodes 1-26 will be available by end of 2015, episodes 27-52 by spring 2016. m4e manages the worldwide distribution.
