Based in Munich, BurdaIntermedia Merchandising will represent all licensing rights in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. The whimsical and charming UK brand fits perfectly into Burda’s portfolio which consists of an appealing mix of valuable brands for children, teens and adults. André Möllersmann, Director Merchandising & Licensing of Burda comments, “We are really thrilled to enlarge our portfolio of kid’s licensing brand with Deer Little Forest. Its unique and affectionate designs can be easily leveraged to create products and we look forward to delight licensees across all categories with this outstanding new brand.” Koko Media’s Lisa Hryniewicz, Agent for Deer Little Forest creator Jo Rose, adds, “We are delighted to be working with the experienced and enthusiastic team at Burda. Together with their expertise in the kids market, Burda’s outstanding strength in publishing make them a perfect choice to bring the illustration-based Deer Little Forest to life in Germany.” Deer Little Forest is a new preschool brand created by Henries’ Award-nominated illustrator Jo Rose, featuring the irrepressibly enthusiastic Forest Flo and her band of mostly furry (and a few slimy!) woodland friends: Nova the shape-shifting owl; Bohdi the father-figure, star-laden bear; Rowan the philosophical fox; Fennel and Fig, two frogs often found doing a jig….and many other original and engaging characters. |
Deer Little Forest is currently being developed as a TV show with King Rollo Films and is being launched at Kidscreen Summit in Miami this February. King Rollo is the iconic, multi-award winning animation studio behind international hit series Poppy Cat, Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies, Humf and Maisy, among others. The gorgeous cast of forest characters will be introduced directly to the UK kids market starting this March, in leading preschool magazines Get Busy and Busy Time. A first picture book has also been completed and a second is in development.
First launched as a licensing brand at BLE in 2013, Deer Little Forest has already generated an impressive roster of deals, both in the UK and abroad: among other places, the brand can now be found on T-shirts in the T-Shirt Booth, greeting cards at Rizzoli Bookstore (Somerset House), Paperchase stores across the UK, and Finland – with more products coming out this year.
Worldwide rights are managed by Lisa Hryniewicz at Koko Media; US rights are represented by Think Tank Emporium. For more information please visit: www.deerlittleforest.com, www.koko-media.com
