The Disney Tsum Tsum Phenomenon comes to Disney Store

Disney Store today revealed the newest soft toy craze - “Disney Tsum Tsum” - goes on sale in stores across Germany and www.disneystore.de from 27th November. Already exciting Disney fans in Japan and US, the collectable soft toy line is based on much-loved Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Winnie the Pooh, with additional character collections planned to release monthly in 2015. The stackable Tsum Tsums come in three different sizes.

Born in Japan, Disney Tsum Tsum, which translates to ‘Stack Stack’, is an idea that stems from the Japanese Zen art of stone stacking. When Disney Store Japan released the first range of collectable, stackable plush in late 2013, it was an overnight success and over 1.6 million units have since been sold in Japan alone. Now Disney Store customers across EMEA can join in the fun and start collecting and stacking the thirty-four different Disney Tsums Tsums.

The plush toy launch follows the phenomenal success of the “LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum” app, which is already available on mobile devices globally and has been downloaded more than 30 million times, becoming the #1 free puzzle app in Japan.

In the “LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum” app, players connect and pop as many of the Disney Tsum Tsum characters as they can in one minute. The more Tsums eliminated within each level, the higher the score. As they progress through the game, players collect Disney and Disney•Pixar Tsums Tsums, like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Stitch and Buzz Lightyear. Each collectable character can be levelled up over time and has a special ability that provides in-game help. By connecting “LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum” to a LINE messenger app account, adult players enjoy social features in-game, like competing for high scores on leaderboards and gifting, with their friends.
