LIMA Winners on all sides

LIMA Deutschland - November 2013

 
On 5 November 2013 LIMA Germany invited the industry to their seventh Licensing Market in Munich, Germany. About 40 exhibitors presented more than 400 licensed properties from different categories against the wonderful background of the glamorous Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Lief!, Burda, Random House, PEZ and Tabaluga Enterprises were among the host of new exhibitors.

Rock star Peter Maffay had reacquired the rights to his little green dragon only months ago and introduced the new marketing programme in person. Exhibitors once more relied on the Cinema Lounge for exclusive presentations like this – and visitors appreciated the exclusive atmosphere. «Everybody who is anybody on the German retail market was on the floor», said Heike Winner, Mangaging Director, LIMA Germany. More than 1000 visitors in attendance of the well-established licensing fair in Germany included numerous toy associations, Toys ‘R‘ Us, real, Dirk Rossmann, Karstadt, Ernsting’s Family, My toys, Tedi, Tacco, Müller and many more.

Once more the traditional LIMA Dinner Party and the LIMA Award Ceremony were the glittering highlight of a wonderful day: «Maya the Bee» is Overall Best License of the Year. Her agency, Studio 100 Media, had even two reasons for joy as they also won in the category Licensor/Agency of the Year. The Licensee of the Year Award went to Egmont Ehapa. «Sorgenfresser Plüsch» by Schmidt Spiele carried off the Licensed Product of the Year Award. Among nominated retailers Müller was able to garner the majority of votes. The title Promotion of the Year was bestowed on «McDonald’s Lesehits: Bücher im Happy Meal». And the Brand/VIP/Sport Brand of the Year Award went to FC Bayern München.

The next LIMA event, the «Day of Licenses» in Cologne will take place on 2 April 2014 at a new location, the Maritim Hotel in Cologne, Germany.
