ZDF Enterprises and Jonathan M. Shiff Productions will be presenting their new family adventure series “Reef Doctors” (13 x 60’) to international buyers at this fall’s TV industry trade fair MIPCOM in Cannes from 8 to 11 October 2012. Co-produced by ZDF and produced in association with Network TEN, the series will premiere in Australia this year, and in Germany in 2013.

Created by the award-winning producer Jonathan M Shiff (H2O – Just Add Water), the series is toplined by one of Australia’s most celebrated actresses, Lisa McCune (Sea Patrol), who is also co-producing the series. McCune stars as Dr. Sam Stewart, Hope Island’s accomplished doctor, who with her team looks after the residents of all the neighbouring islands, as well as the holidaymakers and thrill seekers who visit the area. Not only a General Physician, Sam is a single mother with a free spirit and a determination for an unusual hobby: venom.

“With Australia’s picturesque Great Barrier Reef providing the backdrop “Reef Doctors” is great family entertainment, and marks an exciting move for our company into primetime viewing” says Jonathan M. Shiff.

ZDF Enterprises’ President and CEO Alexander Coridass adds: “We are proud to continue our rewarding collaboration with Jonathan M. Shiff, and we look forward to further promising access primetime or primetime series aimed at families as opposed to programs targeting exclusively young audiences.”
