Maria Ornryd, Media Director at Plus Licens HQ says: “We are happy to bring the Gormiti TV series to two important Russian channels. While Gormiti is among those properties that have managed to grow directly into the heart of their target group through their own imaginative power and collectability element, the television series has already proven successful in helping the property grow further in several international territories.” Paul Tush, General Manager of Plus Licens Russia adds: “We already have a growing merchandising program in Russia, and the popular line of toys and play sets combined with new TV transmissions on powerful broadcasters should provide a fertile ground for further Gormiti growth.” Graziano Delmaestro, licensing director at Giochi Preziosi, concludes: “We are very happy to have all the ingredients present for Gormiti in Russia. With strong TV platforms, Gulliver to distribute the Toy line, AST for editorial line and many other categories of products in discussion for launch in 2012, Plus Licens has pulled together for a great Gormiti package that will bring with it success in Russia.” The original Gormiti toys are 3D mini figurines and action figures of fantasy creatures, each packed with a card that provides the profile and personality of the character. The property is developed by Italian toy powerhouse, Giochi Preziosi, and the first toy lines were launched in Russia in March 2009. The licensing program in Russia/CIS includes AST for Magazine, Publishing, paper based stationery, trading cards, story, activity and coloring books; Trefl for puzzles, games and cards; World Sweets for candy with premiums and Gulliver with BTS bags and textiles. Zodiak Kids owns worldwide TV distribution rights to Gormiti. Licensing and Merchandising are handled by Zodiak Kids in France, and by Giochi Preziosi – in conjunction with Zodiak Kids – for the rest of the world, through a network of agents. |
