New UK licensees on board for Coolabi’s pre-school hit

Leading entertainment producer and rights management company Coolabi is continuing to build momentum for its hit property Poppy Cat, securing three new licensing partners in the UK.

Children’s publisher Alligator Books is on board to create a range of art and activity books; Trade Mark Collections, the leading supplier to UK retailers of licensed children’s umbrellas and bags, has signed up for these categories; and VMC Accessories will supply a new collection of Poppy Cat fashion accessories and dress up.

Along with the recent appointment of Golden Bear as master toy partner, these new partners represent the growing licensing programme for Poppy Cat in the UK, with deals for games and puzzles, tie-in book and magazine publishing, outerwear, underwear and nightwear already secured well in advance of the co-ordinated launch of Poppy Cat product ranges starting Autumn 2012.

Anna Hewitt, Head of Licensing at Coolabi, says: “Following a strong launch of Poppy Cat on Nick Jr in May we are thrilled that these leading manufacturers have signed to join the growing number of Poppy Cat partners, and we look forward to announcing even more throughout the rest of 2011.”

This autumn, Poppy Cat will air on Sprout in the U.S. and TVO, SCN and Knowledge Network in Canada. The Joester Loria Group is the exclusive licensing agent for Poppy Cat for North America and will launch an integrated licensing and merchandising program in key categories including toys, games and apparel. The campaign will target children three to five years of age with products that will inspire adventure and fantasy play.
