Gogo’s Crazy Bones hits No.1 spot in host of top American stores

The USA is the latest territory to go crazy for Gogo’s Crazy Bones, with sales figures showing that it is now the No.1 toy-collectable in a range of outlets across the States, including major chains such as Walgreens and Walmart.

The innovative collectable figures, which are produced by Magic Box International and PPI Worldwide Group, have proved to be a massive hit wherever they have launched, with their ongoing popularity boosted by regular releases of new characters. Gogo’s is already the biggest selling toy-collectable in the UK, Spain, Germany, Benelux, South Africa and Australia/NZ.

In the US, led by the efforts of distributor Jonic Distribution North America (JDNA) including a multi-million dollar TV advertising programme and multi-million piece samplings have helped to boost the brand’s popularity. Licensing representative Bulldog Licensing is working with top US agency, JTMG to build a strong American programme for the brand, with partners such as Hybrid, National Entertainment Network, Winning Moves, Mad Dog and Black & White Footwear already on board. This is part of an extensive worldwide presence, with Gogo’s represented outside the US across categories including publishing, plush, celebration cakes, apparel, greeting cards, stationery, BTS, calendars and giftware.

A huge programme of sampling has begun across America with a huge one million piece giveaway with Walgreens stores earlier in the year seeing kids across the territory Gogo crazy to find the limited edition Miro-K figure. And the frenzy is not just limited to kids as Bulldog and JTMG report back from the Licensing International Expo that licensees and retailers right across the US were showing huge levels of interest in the hottest collectable brand around. The massive sampling exercise is set to continue throughout the year together with other major marketing initiatives which will see Gogo’s established as a core brand for kids in the region for years to come.

Gogo’s Crazy Bones has rapidly established itself in the US and kids are desperate to get their hands on the characters and anything related with the brand,” says Bulldog MD Rob Corney. “This adds to an astonishing level of global success for Gogo’s - the property is still phenomenally successful worldwide and we are seeing unprecedented demand for the figures themselves and licensed merchandise.”
