”Sub-agent SMC in Korea have increased their Moomin business by a fantastic 537 percent year to date. In Japan Moomin is one of top three brands and in China the Moomins were recently nomina- ted one of top 10 international licensed brands”, continues Mr Melin. Sales have also been fuelled by several anniversary incentives; 2014 the brand celebrated ”Tove 100”, a tribute to Moomin creator, writer, artist and illustrator Tove Jansson, born in 1914. This year the brand has focused on ”Moomin 70”, the anniversary of the first Moomin book ever published; ”The Moomins and the Great Flood”. ”We’d like to thank our customers for an incredible year so far, which saw demand for Moomin products soar to an all-time high,” says Roleff Kråkström, CEO at Moomin Charachters.
