New deals keep ‘rolling’ in for The Smiley Company …

The Smiley Company - June 2011

The Smiley Company has signed with German based skateboarding company ‘Fun 4 U’ to create an extensive range of sporting goods to help celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary in 2012.

The range will include skateboards, longboards, rollerblades, bikes, scooters, helmets and yo-yos all donning exclusive Smiley original and Smiley Society artwork created especially for this collection.

Nicolas Loufrani (CEO of The Smiley Company) says: Smiley is building its brand around youth style tribes and we believe skaters are in total tune with our brand philosophy. Our friends at Fun 4 U share our vision so much that they have decided to make it a new business division. The new company Smiley Funwheel is now born and we wish it a great future. It’s not just one more licensed skateboard; it’s a brand new lifestyle brand”.

This exciting new product range, a first for The Smiley Company, targeting both kids and adults, will be available throughout Europe and Switzerland via sports and fashion retailers.

Speaking on the new partnership Panos Hadjinicolaou (Director of Fun4U) says: Smiley has always been the missing part to our portfolio and we are extremely excited to welcome the brand to our group. All the fun4u team is happy to announce this new corporation and look forward to a long and happy relationship with The Smiley Company”.

The range will launch at ISPO in February 2012.
