"Die Maus – Reise durch Deutschland" starts – how could it be otherwise – on a large map of Germany, the game board, in Berlin. The journey from the Baltic Sea to Lake Constance is determined by 54 Travel Cards. Players draw a card from the pile and visit various federal states. When one of the players for example discovers “Brandenburg” among their first four Travel Cards, they may play the card and move the Mouse token to the neighbouring state. True to the motto "Neighbours belong together”! If you are really lucky, you even have Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and may immediately move on… If you can’t move further, it’s the next player’s turn to prove that they are good neighbours, too. So the Mouse and all players move around the republic round after round and collect winning points as they collect Travel Cards. The game gets really exciting when you ring in trivia time by playing a Question Card. Now it’s time to test your knowledge! 106 cards feature 106 Mouse questions (and – of course – the answers). All tourists take part in the game when the Mouse wants to know what Saarlanders call "Dibbelabbes" (potato pancakes) or on which island the "Königsstuhl" is (Ruegen). The cards offer three possible answers, featuring suitcase-symbols in red, blue, and violet. The Travel Cards feature one of these symbols as well. Now each player of "Reise durch Deutschland" has to decide which answers is the correct one by playing a Travel Card of the respective colour. Have you been clever as a Mouse?! So you will soon pile up your Travel Cards and increase your chances of winning the game. Guessed wrong? You will just have to wait for the next question. Obviously Hamburg is the city that has more sea gulls than any other city in Europe! Or …was it street signs… or bridges…? |
