Tele Images, a Zodiak Kids company, is proud to announce TF1 has renewed The Ranch, the highly popular hit animated series, for a second season. The brand new season (26 x26’) produced by Tele Images will bring the total number of available episodes to 52.

Production is set to commence in autumn 2014, with delivery planned for the second quarter of 2015.

This new season of The Ranch is being developed with a comprehensive cross-platform approach encompassing an extensive licensing range in France and Germany, as well as online platforms including a horse breeding online game (www.ranch-online.fr).

Ranch-online totals over 35,000 registered users and is available on tablets and mobile since April 11th 2014 in France. The Ranch is also on Facebook through Lena’s blog, and has dedicated pages on TF1 and Teletoon+’s websites.

In France, the licensing rights are managed by TF1 Licences in partnership with Tele Images. Lansay is developing a brand new range of toys based on the characters of the series: figurines, horses, riders and their accessories, vans, etc. are already available at the main toy retailers and are soon to be launched in large supermarkets.
This comes in addition to other licensing deals managed by TF1 Licences including back to school and stationery (Tennessee), home decoration (Lutece), and promotions in restaurants (Quick).

In addition, Hachette has already sold 200,000 novels based on the series and plans to release new opuses as well as new activity books. Jungle will publish the 2nd opus of the comic book in October, while TF1 Video will continue to exploit the DVDs for the remainder of the year.

In Germany, where the series is broadcast on ARD and KI.KA, the licensing rights are managed by CPLG-Germany. The latest licensing deals cover publishing (novels and activity books) by Egmont, a dedicated magazine by Blue Ocean, DVDs by JustBridge, audio story-telling by Edel and apparel by AA Brands.

In Italy, Spain and Eastern Europe, Planeta Junior has just been appointed as licensing agent and new licensees will be announced shortly.

The Ranch has been an international sales success. Most recent sales of the first series include Ciwen (China), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), RTS (Switzerland), Noga (Israel), POP TV (Slovenia), CFI (French Africa), BBC Alba (UK), NRK in Norway, VRT in Belgium, Bridge Rights (DVD Germany) and TF1 Video (DVD France) as well as Pay TV sales with Teletoon+ / Canal+ (Poland), Minimax (Central Eastern Europe) and Smart Çocuk (Turkey).

The Ranch depicts the adventures of four teenagers, who share a passion for horse-riding. When Lena encounters a wild stallion called Mistral who has been injured, she decides to adopt and tame him. With the help of her friends Angelo, Anais and Hugo, Lena fights to keep the uncontrollable horse at their rescue home in the heart of the wild Camargue countryside.

Zodiak Kids holds worldwide distribution rights to the series. Tele Images Productions is represented by TF1 Licences in France, by CPLG in Germany and by Planeta Junior in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Central and Eastern Europe.
