TV-Loonland, the company recognised for managing kids brands worldwide, and The Illuminated Film Company announce that Five has commissioned two exclusive seasonal specials for their multi-award winning pre-school show Little Princess. The specials will be themed around Harvest Festival and Christmas, for which much-loved British actor and TV personality, Brian Blessed, will be the new celebrity voiceover. This autumn will also see the launch of Little Princess Autumn/Winter product lines by Martin Yaffe International under the Born to Play brand in store from September 2008. Following the resounding worldwide success of the pre-school series, TV-Loonland has teamed up with The Illuminated Film Company, award winning producers of Little Princess, to produce the two 22 minute specials. “Harvest Festival” will premiere on Five’s Milkshake! on Saturday 1 November 2008. The winter special “A Merry Little Christmas”, is set to air during the festive holidays and will feature the brand new character, Great Uncle Walter, voiced by Brian Blessed. Little Princess launched on Five in September 2006 and continues to prove a ratings success. It was rated the top pre-school programme on terrestrial TV in the UK in March 2007 (Source: DDS based on 4-6 year old target audience) and currently airs every weekend on Milkshake!. The hit pre-school show performs well both in the UK and internationally and has been sold in over 160 countries to date. Little Princess is one of the top pre-school characters who took part in the hugely successful recent Milkshake! Live concerts at regional theatres across the country. Following the successful launch of the first Little Princess toy range in February 2008, TV-Loonland and Martin Yaffe International / Born to Play have secured strong retail distribution to launch the hero range from September 2008. Under the Born to Play brand, Martin Yaffe International will be launching items from the Autumn/Winter collection including talking Little Princess plush, dressing up set and a castle playset with furniture and favourite figures from the show including the King, Queen, Little Princess, Scruff and Puss. The products will range from £x-£x and will be available from leading high street stores throughout the UK and Ireland.
