House of Turnowsky to celebrate global licensing success at BLE

BRANDORA Editorial Staff - September 2018

House of Turnowsky will unveil its Spring/Summer 2020 design portfolio for the first time at Brand Licensing Europe (BLE), to run from October 9 – 11 2018 at London’s Olympia. The design house will exhibit with its exclusive UK licensing agent, JELC (National Hall Stand L65).

BLE will provide the perfect stage for House of Turnowsky’s global licensing programme, which is the natural development of almost eight decades of design excellence, expertly pushed forward by Turnowsky’s partners in the USA, UK, Europe, Turkey and Israel.

The lovingly-created centrepiece of the BLE showcase will feature three new collections: Chic & Free, Havana and Northern Face. Visitors are invited to view some of the beautiful products already brought to market by prestigious international licensees, whilst being inspired by a treasure trove original artworks across a full portfolio of 12 new design concepts.

The Chief Executive of House of Turnowsky, Kobi Tadmor, comments: “Our goal has been to build a global network of first class licensing agents who can introduce our brand into new territories. We are proud to be so well-represented around the world by JELC in UK, Brand Squared Licensing in North America, Lisans A.S in Turkey, and Yooka in Israel. We are also making great inroads into the Japanese market and will be announcing details of our new Japanese agent in the very near future. I look forward to welcoming new and prospective licensing partners to our showcase at BLE.” House of Turnowsky will be in illustrious company with other brands represented by JELC, one of the most highly regarded agencies in the international licensing arena, whose portfolio also includes The National Gallery Company, Silentnight, Crimestoppers, Help for Heroes and I Like Birds.

JELC was established by Jane Evans, former founder and MD of The Beanstalk Group - Europe, which has developed and managed licensing programmes for major brands such as The Coca-Cola Company, Harley-Davidson, The Andy Warhol Foundation, Hallmark, and Jack Daniels. JELC also owns Berussia Ltd operating in Russia and CIS.

Jane comments: “House of Turnowsky offers outstanding original artwork which is perfect for surface design. In building on the great success already achieved in the USA and rest of Europe we are strongly focused on the first phase of building this iconic design brand in the UK market. Whilst seeking to expand into non-paper categories - including giftware, ceramics, fabrics and crafting materials - we will also make the most of Turnowsky’s enormous potential in traditional paper categories such as calendars, diaries, stationery, gift bags and wrap”.

Five years after opening their incredible archives and the development of two new seasonal collections a year created specifically for the licensing community, House of Turnowsky has an international network of more than 30 major licensing partners across a broad array of product categories around the world.

Highlights from the past year include new agreements in North America with Design Design – (stationery and lifestyle accessories), CAP Devon, Active Brand Commerce and iCanvas (wall décor). House of Turnowsky has also built on the success of existing licensing partnerships with a number of renewed contracts and line extensions with Cranston (USA, fabrics), Scandecor (Sweden, stationery and calendars), Franco Cosimo Panini (Italy, stationery and fashion accessories), Goldbuch (Germany, giftware), Dumont (Germany, calendars and agendas), Paper Product Design Germany (ceramics and gifts) and Ecell (UK, mobile accessories).

They join Turnowsky’s longest standing partnership with American Greetings Group, one of the world’s top publishers of greetings cards, gift wrappings and stationery, which resulted in global sales of more than five million luxury cards in 2017 alone.
