Mondo TV announces Robot Trains balloons deals with Grabo

World-leading maker of inflatables to produce wide range of Robot Trains helium balloons

Mondo TV, one of the largest European producers and distributors of animated content, has announced a two-year deal with Grabo Balloons, a world-leading designer and manufacturer of inflatable products, to bring Kay, Alf, Duck, Selly and Victor and many other characters from the show to colourful helium balloons that can be used for parties, for presents or just for fun.

The balloons are launching at retail during the summer in both Italy and Russia. They will be available across both countries in toy stores and mass-market outlets by the end of June.

This deal is the latest in a number of major licensing agreements for Robot Trains , an exciting 32 x 11’ animated series for children aged between four and seven years set in Train World, where all the citizens are trains – but some can transform into robots!

Robot Trains is distributed and licensed by Mondo TV in a number of territories across Europe, including Italy, Spain and Portugal, the Middle East and the Pacific region. Mondo will not only distribute and license the second season of Robot Trains in all these territories but will also be partnering with CJ E&M to co-produce the new series.

The first series of Robot Trains already broadcasts on a number of leading free-to-air channels, including Cartoonito in Italy, Cartoonito UK, Gulli in France, Canal Panda in Portugal, Carousel in Russia and Dkids in the Middle East. The show will also be arriving soon on Clan TVE in Spain. More territory announcements are imminent.

Licensing activity for Robot Trains is also strong. Master toy licensee Silverlit will work with toy distributors Rocco Giocattoli in Italy, Bisak in Spain and Concentra in Portugal to mention only a few. Among licensees on board for Italy are Grani & Partners (for 3D figurines and collectible Robot Trains products), Preziosi (for confectionery and snacks), La Feltrinelli (for books), Ravensburger (for puzzles and memory games), Modecor (for confectionery decorations) and Kimbe (for live characters and events). Stickers and trading cards from Panini, carnival costumes, party sets and summer toys produced by CIAO, personal care products from Admiranda and paper handkerchiefs from Clean Paper add up to an impressively wide-ranging licensing portfolio – with many other agreements under discussion or about to be announced. In Portugal Kstationery and Comansi (for kiosks) have also signed. And these names have now been joined by Grabo. Its innovative and revolutionary inflatable products which are made out of mylar and foil and are filled with helium and air, are sold all over the world.

Valentina La Macchia, Mondo TV Licensing Director says: “With Grabo on board Robot Trains has delivered in yet another important product category. This agreement confirms the continuing enthusiasm and confidence of the Italian licensing industry for this property. I’m sure these fantastic balloons will be exceptionally popular in the Italian market with the show’s many young fans.”
